Hi all,
I am wanting to build a pedal board, but I'm kind of lost ware to start. I am wanting to build one that is multi teered, and I'm wanting to put a wa, giggadelay, some form of distortion, maybe some chorus and flanger, So, any help would be apreciated.
Chris
are you physically lookiking to build the board yourself or looking for sugesstions on a multi tiered board and which pedals to put on it?
I am wanting suggestions on what to put on it...
Well waht kind of music are you into and what sort of effects do you like/use. I take you are looking for indvidual stomp boxes. Currently I am using a Rocktron Black Cat Moan Wah Wah pedal, Its wah with an overdrive circuit that that can be used independently of each other. Using the overdrive with the wah when you are using the wah on an already distorted part can yield some cool effects. For distortion i currently have a DOD Grunge and a Hughes & Kettner Warp Factor. The DOD Grunge well is self explanitory .. you can get those hard rock/grunge tones .. and i find it really easy to hit harmonics with that pedal. can get a bit noisy on high gain settings but thats most distortion pedals. The Warp Factor is more of a newer hard rock/metal sound a little darker i guess.. and the I also own a rocktron nitro clean booster pedal and a ISP Technologies Decimator noise reduction pedal. The ISP Decimator is made by the same guy who did the Rocktron Hush and is even better than the hush its the one noise gate that doesn't kill your sustain. Other than that i have a nulti fx rack piece which i am mostlikely getting rid of as its a pain in the ass to program with my limited sight .. if you have enough sight to read the screen on it up close its a very usefull and cool piece ..
Well, right now, I am starting out with an ibanez tube screamer pro, and a boss metal zone. I'm wanting to have a pretty hard rock sound, but I want to be able to get quieter as well. I'm looking for a wa pedal that has a verry wide sweep if that makes any sense, maybe an equalizer, noise suppressor, I'm definetely wanting to get a chorus, delay, and maybe flanger. I got the boss BCB-60 off of ebay but I haven't received it yet. Will it be big enough to power them? Also, How do the power supplies work on those things? is it just a power strip, or does it just have addaptors you plug the pedals in to?
Thanks alot,
Chris.
A wah with a wide sweep, the first thing that comes to mind is the Morely Mark Trimonti wah, and if I remember correctly the Toe end actually ends with your toes pointing down towards the ground instead of your foot flat like most wah pedals do. The ibanez WD 7 Weeping Demon is pretty damn tweakable as well, and i must say the Dimebag crybaby from hell handled a bass really well for being aguitar wah pedal. Also the rocktron Black cat moan much like the ibanez i mentioned prior has a selection for bass, normal, or classic which each alter the sweep range in its own way. If memory serves correct the boss bcb 6 power supply is a long wire with the 6 different end pins to plug into the adapter jack on the pedals spaced evenly to plugh into 6 pedals on the board. This works best if all the pedals you are using has the adapter jack on the back center like boss pedals do. If the pedal has it on its side then it may not work as well with reaching all 6 pedals.I haven't played much with stand alone pedals for chorus flangers, Delays and Reverbs lately so I can't comment much on those.Right now i am in the process of trying to find a multi fx unit that has a stomp box like set up to it and not alot of menuss. There are a few that seem like they will fit the bill, but if they don't its back to stomp boxes and the tap dance for me i guess lol .
